Recently you were asked in a little survey to list your strengths and weaknesses in photography. The three areas that the majority of members listed as their weakness are:
Portraiture,
Street photography,
Post production (using Adobe Lightroom, Photoshop or an equivalent image editing program).
Therefore the club committee considered how we could help. The answer:
A “Development Challenge”. We would like you to select one of the above three areas. No matter if you thought it was one of your strengths or weaknesses. In a short paragraph tell us which area you have selected, and define what, and how, you want to achieve. Return this information to us via email by Wednesday 27 March.
Once we have collected this information, the club will be endeavouring to schedule workshops to assist, to arrange small group meetings for you to discuss your work in progress (approx. every 6 weeks), and to organise speakers who will help you in these areas.
On Wednesday 30 October or 13 November you will be asked to present 6 images of your work in the area you chose, from the beginning to the end result, illustrating how you have progressed. For collation we require these items — digital or print — 14 days before the presentation night.
Take up this “Development Challenge” and improve your photographic skills. You will be able to learn, and help others, through this journey.
